Advantaged of Metal roof & wall cladding systems:
The most economical roofing & wall cladding is light corrugated metal sheeting, on both the roof and the external walls. They therefore require insulation and other layers to be incorporated into the roof.
These steel sheets, barely 0.5mm thick, are coated with an aluminium-zinc alloy for corrosion protection on both sides, and are given an attractive, durable paint finish on the outside in the factory.
These sheets are installed over a grid of purlins, a steel member that rests on the main structural frame and supports the roofing material. In pre-engineered buildings, cold formed Z sectionsare the member of choice for purlins.
Before installing the sheets a layers of insulation and vapour barriers are installed, Rolls of glass wool or mineral wool are the most common type of insulation for such type. Since there is no inner wall over which to fix these layers, a layer of galvanized chicken wire mesh is first laid over the purlins. Over this, the insulation and vapour barriers are laid, and then the corrugated sheets are laid. The sheets are fixed with self-tapping screws that run through the sheets and layers of insulation directly into the purlins. Polycarbonate skylights can be installed in the roof sheeting to create natural lighting.

Hi Rib Sheets: Hi-Ribis a pierced fixed roof and wall covering system, consists of structurally-engineered profiled panels that are available in single length (up to 12 metres) and are fixed by means of self-drilling fasteners. All the ribs are clipped on and are interlocked. No penetration is done for its fixation to the roof or wall framing.
Klippon: Klippon is a concealed fixed snap on seam roof/wall covering system that consists of structurally strong high-ribbed panels with wide fluted pans for efficient water shedding and are fixed by means of concealed clips. All the ribs are clipped on and are interlocked. No penetration is done for its fixation to the roof or wall framing. These are ideally suited for regions which receive heavy rainfall and can be used on slopes.
The clip-on side lap makes the profile completely water tight. The side lap is totally weatherproof. Any moisture drawn in by capillary action is trapped and dispersed by normal run-off.
